Newcastle United’s Rolando Aarons has completed a move away from St James’ Park on loan - and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter believe it’s a shame how his career has panned out.
Aarons has had a strange career so far and not gone on to reach his expected potential after making his first-team debut for Newcastle in 2014.
The left-winger was a highly-rated talent when he first came through the academy and was tipped by many to become a regular at senior level.
But that hasn’t been the case and he spent some time out on loan with Italian club Hellas Verona last season to try get his career back on track.
The wide man clearly doesn’t feature in the plans of current Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez this season and feels he has enough in his squad to allow his temporary exit.
Aarons will try to discover some kind of form with Czech outfit FC Slovan Liberec, who current Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka used to play for.
A selection of Newcastle fans are amazed at the fall from grace of the winger and are not sure if he will get another first-team opportunity with the club.
Here is some of the Magpies reaction to Aarons’ departure:
Good luck Rolando, it's a shame you didn't get a chance in the first team!— Kai (@KaiSanderson) September 7, 2018

What the actual hell has happened in the last few years to get to this point, our development of players is awful— Tom Ellacott (@impossibletom) September 7, 2018
How in any way will this help his development? It’s clear that Aarons is now surplus to requirements at #nufc but this is a really nothing move. A desperately sorry reflection of Newcastle’s academy/development network. https://t.co/TXd5HgIJCC— The Spectator's View (@thespectoview) September 7, 2018
Worrying that no championship or league 1 clubs are interested. We signed Murphy on pretence of championship promise, worried Roland is heading the wrong direction.— Randeep Singh Sangha (@DrRandeepSangha) September 7, 2018
Damn this club— Cameron James (@cameronjames07) September 7, 2018
