Everton are in a tricky spot over England under-21 winger Ademola Lookman.

Lookman is not in Everton's first team plans and the Toffees are coming under pressure from RB Leipzig to sell him, with £28 million the fee discussed by SkySports.

Selling Lookman could be a big error for Everton, and it is understandable they are dragging their heels over a potential sale.

This is where Championship table toppers Leeds United should get ambitious and make a loan proposal to Everton.

Sending Lookman on loan to Leeds would help Everton out, as it will delay a decision on Lookman's future by a further year.

A year playing for a promotion challenging team at the top of the Championship will allow Everton to monitor Lookman more closely, while keeping him on their books.

The former Charlton prospect is not in Everton's first team plans at present, but it makes little sense to keep him at Goodison Park unhappy and in the under-23s.

Leeds signed Matthew Pennington on loan from Everton last season and should be looking to pounce on Everton's dilemma over Lookman and offer them a way out.

The winger would be a tremendous addition to the Leeds squad and could be a real driving force in their promotion chasing campaign.

It would not be the move to RB Leipzig Lookman may want, but playing exciting football under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds has to be preferable to the winger than a spell with Everton's under-23 side.
