Goncalo Guedes made it clear that he had little interest in following his fellow Portugal internationals Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio to Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
The 21-year-old winger is one of the hottest talents in European football and showcased his star quality with a dazzling loan spell at Valencia last season from PSG.
Though Super Deporte quickly killed off Wolves’ hopes. It was claimed that Guedes had no interest in a move to Molineux and would only leave France in order to return to Valencia on a permanent basis.
But the former Benfica starlet may be regretting that decision soon, because Valencia’s director general Mateu Alemany has admitted to BeIN Sports that Los Che could be priced out of a deal.
"The price is very high, and we have to take into account our financial situation. We work to be prudent, we work for him to come, but we're ready in case he doesn't," Alemany said.
Guedes’ Wolves snub could have backfired. If he is forced to stay at PSG, he could find himself stuck on the bench or even in the stands with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria just three players ahead of him in the pecking order at the Parc des Princes.
At Wolves, however, Guedes would have been the main man.
