HITC Sport understands Stoke City have agreed a deal with Brentford for midfielder Ryan Woods.

Stoke City are closing in on the signing of Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods on loan with an obligation to buy for £7million in January, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Woods’ future at Brentford has been the subject of speculation all summer with Swansea close to signing him earlier this month only for the move to fail to materialise.
The classy midfielder has not featured for Brentford so far this season in the wake of the speculation over his future as the Bees were resigned to his departure.
Stoke have now made a late move for Woods as they look to bolster their midfield options before the close of the transfer window at the end of the month.
New Stoke boss Gary Rowett has identified Woods as one of his top targets after a disappointing start to the season in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League.

Woods has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Championship since joining Brentford in 2015 from Shrewsbury Town.
The 24-year-old has made over 120 appearances for the club and was named the supporters’ player of the year last season.
Woods is due to undergo a medical at Stoke on Friday and Rowett will be hoping his imminent arrival will spark an upturn in fortunes for his side who have failed to win any of their opening four Championship games.
