Ademola Lookman has reportedly told Everton that he wants to join the Bundesliga side on a permanent basis.

Ademola Lookman has informed Everton that he would like to leave Goodison Park and join RB Leipzig on a permanent basis this summer, according to a report from the Independent.

Lookman’s future has been the subject of speculation for much of the summer. Having struggled to break into the Toffees side under both Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce, he left to join the Bundesliga club on loan in January.

And after an extremely impressive spell, Leipzig have attempted to bring him back to the club throughout the window, with the Independent reporting that Everton have rejected three bids for the England under-21 international, with the most recent offer worth £22 million.

The Independent adds that Everton see Lookman as part of their plans. Nevertheless, they have reportedly set a £28 million asking price, and the forward has apparently told the Premier League side that he wants to leave for Germany on a permanent basis.

With Leipzig making three bids and seemingly within £6 million of finally getting Lookman back through the door, it would appear that everything is virtually set for a deal to be done in the final hours of the European window.

Some will undoubtedly deem it to be a real shame if Lookman leaves Merseyside. He clearly boasts an enormous amount of potential and he showed during the second-half of last season that he could quite easily realise that potential with Leipzig if given a chance. It now appears that the opportunity may soon be there for him.
