Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have made an improved offer for Heart of Midlothian forward Kyle Lafferty, according to The Express.

Rangers are confident that an agreement can be reached with Hearts regarding the transfer of the former Ibrox forward before the summer transfer window closes at the end of the month, according to the report.

Lafferty’s Hearts teammate, Steven Naismith, though, does not think that it is for sure that the Northern Ireland international forward will leave.

Naismith told BBC Sport: "Kyle's said a few times that's his last game. But then he's turned up a month later. In football, these things happen. If he moves on, he moves on.”

Good signing for Rangers?

Lafferty is a very good forward who was on the books of Rangers from 2008 until 2012, and the Northern Ireland would be a smart signing for the Gers.

Although the former Norwich City man is not very prolific, he scores big goals in big games, and the 30-year-old Northern Ireland international forward would add experience to Gerrard’s team.

Jordan Jones interest

According to The Express, Rangers could rekindle their long-term interest in Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones.

The Glasgow giants could reportedly be without winger Jamie Murphy until next year due to injury, and the Gers could revive their interest in Jones.

The 23-year-old Northern Ireland is one of the best wingers in the Scottish Premiership, and he would be a good signing for the Gers, not just for now but for the long term as well.
