The Poland Under-21 team coach claims a Middlesbrough scout was left impressed by one of his players on Sunday.
Krystian Bielik may have been part of the Arsenal Under-23 side that suffered a 6-5 defeat against their Manchester City counterparts on Sunday, but, according to Czesław Michniewicz, his performance was very highly rated by the Boro representative present.
Michniewicz, who is known as 'the Polish Jose Mourinho', posted the following on Twitter yesterday (Monday):
Bardzo wysoko oceniony przez będącego na meczu scouta Middlesbrough— Czesław Michniewicz (@czesmich) August 13, 2018
Middlesbrough are said to have seen a deal to sign Muhamed Besic collapse on deadline day, and it is possible that Bielik, who like the Everton man can play in central defence and central midfield, would be considered an alternative.
The 20-year-old moved to Arsenal in early 2015 but has only played twice since then, while loan spells at Birmingham City and Walsall proved somewhat unremarkable - although the latter period was disrupted by injury.
Unlike Premier League clubs, Middlesbrough can still make temporary signings - including those with an agreement to be made permanent in January - up to and including August 31st.
Would Arsenal's Bielik be a good addition for Middlesbrough?
