Leicester City may only be one game into the new season, but manager Claude Puel should make a change to his defence immediately.
The Foxes put in a spirited display in their 2-1 defeat away to Manchester United and there was definitely enough to suggest they can have a successful season in the Premier League this year.
However, they started with the centre-back duo of Harry Maguire and captain Wes Morgan, something that needs to change in their next match at home to Wolves on Saturday
Morgan, 34, famously lifted the Premier League for Leicester during their sensational 2015/16 campaign and has cemented his spot as a club legend.
The no-nonsense defender has been on the decline since and this season is the perfect time to pass the torch to summer recruit Jonny Evans.
Morgan is no longer good enough to play on a weekly basis in the Leicester XI and 30-year-old Evans would be a brilliant replacement.
A new-look Maguire-Evans combination at the heart of the Foxes defence could be formidable and the fact that both defenders are good in possession makes them perfect for Puel’s set-up.
England international Maguire is a pivotal player at the King Power Stadium and partnering him with proven Premier League ace Evans looks a perfect fit.
