Former Bury starlet Jacob Bedeau impressed at centre-back once again as Championship side Aston Villa beat Norwich City 2-0 in the Under 23s.

Jacob Bedeau was hardly a household name in January 2017, but that does not mean that Aston Villa did not pull off a real coup when they landed his signature 17 months ago.
As reported by the Birmingham Mail, almost every top club in the country had been scouting the gifted defender, who forced his way into the Bury first-team at the age of 16 and quickly began to turn heads up and down the land.
But it was Villa who won the race, paying £900,000 to sign a teenager who had made just seven first-team appearances. And the fact that Bedeau is now featuring regularly for Kevin MacDonald’s U23 side at the age of just 18 speaks volumes about his quality.

Kesley Mooney was the two-goal star of the show as Villa’s U23s opened the new season with a 2-0 win against Norwich City on Monday night but Bedeau, who wore the captain’s armband, once again stood out.
Along with Easah Suliman, the ball-playing centre-back appears to be screaming out for a first-team chance. There is room for him, too, especially after veterans John Terry and Chris Samba departed.
Plenty of Villa fans think Bedeau’s time has come.
