Turkish newspaper Olay have claimed that Henri Saivet has agreed terms with SuperLig side Bursaspor and is set to complete a move to the club, after watching their game on Saturday.

Saivet, 27, has been linked with a move back to Turkey for much of the summer transfer window, after Newcastle loaned the midfielder to Sivasspor in the January transfer window until the end of the season.

Now, The Toon are looking to offload him permanently, with Rafa Benitez seemingly desperate not to use the former Bordeaux midfielder despite scoring in his only Premier League appearance last season against West Ham United.

The report claims Saivet, after agreeing terms with Bursaspor, had watched his potential new side narrowly lose to SuperLig title contenders Fenerbahce 2-1 – despite taking the lead away from home.

Saivet has failed to make an impact at St. James’ Park since his move to the north east from Bordeaux in January 2016. He has made just eight senior appearances, and gone on loan to St. Etienne as well as Sivasspor.

A 24-time Senegal international, Saivet still has three years remaining on his contract with Newcastle, which is worth £35,000 a week according to Spotrac.com. No wonder then, Benitez is keen to offload him this summer.
