Liverpool set their stall out early with a rousing win at Anfield.

Liverpool kicked off their Premier League campaign with a rousing 4-0 demolition of West Ham United at Anfield.

Mo Salah picked up where he left off from last season and opened the scoring after 19 minutes.

Two goals from Sadio Mane either side of the half-time whistle then gave Liverpool an unassailable 3-0 lead, before Daniel Sturridge put gloss on the scoreline late on.

It was the Reds' 500th win of the Premier League era, and here is how Linda Pizzuti Henry reacted to the victory on Twitter:

Liverpool only had the two debutants on display - Alisson Becker and Naby Keita.

Fabinho, a £43.7 million signing from Monaco, had to settle for a spot on the bench, though Xherdan Shaqiri made his bow with an eight-minute cameo toward the end.

Jurgen Klopp's side have to at least challenge for the Premier League crown in a serious way this season, having spent so much during the summer.

And although we've only had one game, this is an encouraging sign that they can mount a title challenge.
