West Bromwich Albion fans have leapt to the defence of Darren Moore after criticism from his Glasgow Rangers counterpart Steven Gerrard.
Speaking after Rangers' 3-1 win against Maribor on Thursday - a result that left Ibrox side in command of their Europa League third qualifying round tie - Gerrard questioned the timing of West Brom's approach for the right-back James Tavernier.
The Baggies' £1.8 million offer arrived shortly before the close of the English transfer window, and was rejected by Rangers.
But despite Tavernier impressing for Rangers just hours later, Gerrard, the newly appointed manager at Ibrox, told the Daily Record: "Good players get attention from other clubs. I don't appreciate that attention 24 hours before a big game. I'd like a phone call off of big Darren at some point."
And his comments have not gone down well with the bulk of the West Brom faithful.
This is what they're saying on Twitter...

Did WBA or Darren Moore break any rules in approach for Tavernier at Rangers? If not Gerrard should pipe down - if the offer isnt high enough, just say no.— Alex T (@AlexT_007) 10 August 2018

Tavernier scored Rangers' second goal of the evening, a penalty, to take his tally to three (plus two assists) in six games this season.
The Gers captain still has three years to run on his contract at Ibrox.
