Only a week ago, The Sun reported that Pep Guardiola was set to do business with his old pal and inspiration Marcelo Bielsa again.

Manchester City have already sent the impressive winger Jack Harrison to Elland Road on a season-long and it was expected that 19-year-old striker Lukas Nmecha would join him in West Yorkshire.

The German-born England U21 international is one of the most exciting attacking prospects around right now even if he is yet to really make his mark on City’s first team. In 11 Premier League 2 matches last season, Nmecha scored a quite ridiculous 15 goals.

But Leeds were left disappointed right at the end. Out of absolutely nowhere, Preston North End swooped in and signed the teenager in one of the summer’s most eye-catching deals.

And it’s fair to say both Leeds and Preston fans have reacted strongly on social media, albeit from very different points of view.

In truth, Nmecha could be better off at Deepdale. At Elland Road, he would face a major challenge fighting for a starting place ahead of the £7 million summer signing Patrick Bamford and the versatile Kemar Roofe, who appears to have impressed Bielsa with his energy and work rate.
