Comedian and Middlesbrough fan Bob Mortimer has expressed his deep regret at the club selling Adama Traore to Wolves.
Wolves signed Traore from the Championship side for a fee which will total £18 million.
Traore impressed at Middlesbrough last season after signing from Aston Villa in a swap deal with Albert Adomah.
Mortimer described Traore's exit as 'sad' and described him as a generational talent.
Such a sad day. Extraordinary talent the likes of which I have never seen in 50 years. Wolves fans you are lucky lucky bastards. Best wishes towards you lad and thanks for the memories #boro #wwfc #heartbreaking pic.twitter.com/PKuXxiG5su— bob mortimer (@RealBobMortimer) August 8, 2018
The comments are certainly encouraging for Wolves fans who hope the club can help Traore fulfil his potential.
He was highly rated at Barcelona as a youngster before making the surprise switch to Aston Villa.
Wolves added to Traore's arrival with a deadline day move for Leander Dendoncker.
