The Gers have focused mainly on additions this summer, with Borna Barisic becoming their 11th signing on Monday, following the likes of Allan McGregor, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Scott Arfield to Ibrox.
Now though, the attention may be on keeping players at Ibrox, as West Brom made a move to sign Rangers full back James Tavernier on Wednesday evening.
TEAMtalk report that not only have Rangers snubbed their £3million offer, but have not told the Baggies to cough up £7million if they want to land the full back before today's 5pm deadline in England.
Tavernier may now be set to stay with Rangers beyond England's deadline, given that West Brom have just a matter of hours to make a bid more than double their initial offer.
Tavernier, 26, has been a regular for Rangers ever since his 2015 move from Wigan Athletic, with his goal record – 27 in 145 games – has been hugely impressive.
Rangers do have cover at right back in Jon Flanagan and Lee Hodson, but it seems unlikely that they would allow the club captain to leave unless they receive a huge price – and their current valuation may just scare West Brom off.
