Report: Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Southampton all want Liverpool forward Danny Ings

Liverpool forward Danny Ings is a target of Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez, Crystal Palace and Southampton.

According to the Guardian’s live transfer blog (12:26, August 9th), Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Southampton all remain interested in Liverpool forward Danny Ings.

Newcastle, Palace and Southampton have all been trying to snap up Ings for much of the summer so far, but they have failed to get deals over the line.


However, the Guardian claim that Liverpool forward Ings could leave today.

Liverpool are expecting a quiet deadline day, but Ings is one of the few players could depart.

The 26-year-old, who has one England cap, is seemingly third choice at Liverpool, after Daniel Sturridge’s impressive pre-season.

Newcastle have been on the hunt for a new number nine all summer, but look most likely to sign Ings on loan.

Southampton and Palace, meanwhile, may have more funds available to them to pursue Ings on a permanent deal.
