According to Sky Sports, Everton officials are in Barcelona to tie up a deal for defender Yerry Mina, and he will undergo a medical in Catalunya to save time.
The Toffees have added three new faces this summer as Joao Virginia, Lucas Digne and Richarlison have all arrived at Goodison Park, whilst Brazilian playmaker Bernard is on the verge of completing his move.
However, in the final hours of the window, Everton need to secure a new defender, and their top target for many weeks now has been Barcelona centre back Yerry Mina.
Sky Sports now report that a delegation of Everton officials have travelled to Catalunya in order to try and finalise the move, and the defender is undergoing a medical in Spain to save time.
Clearly, Everton feared that they would run out of time to secure Mina's signature, so have gone over to Spain to secure the move, which now looks set to go through before this evening's 5pm deadline.
Mina, 23, only joined Barca from Brazilian side Palmeiras in January, but struggled to impress and has fallen further down the pecking order behind Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and new signing Clement Lenglet.
The 6ft 5in defensive mountain did though impress at the World Cup, scoring three times in three games for Colombia, though his defensive ability was brought into question.
Everton seemingly feel convinced that he is the player for them though, and with Mina undergoing a medical in front of Everton officials, it seems that Everton are finally about to land the defender they wanted all along.
