Tim Sherwood believes that Tottenham-linked midfielder Jack Grelaish will still join the club from Aston Villa on deadline day.
The report adds that the Premier League side would have to return with a “vastly-improved” bid to secure his signature on deadline day.
However, ex-Spurs and Villa manager Sherwood, has tipped the deal to get over the line in the final few hours of the window.
He also added that the English playmaker is good enough to make the step up in level and feels he would improve in Mauricio Pochettino’s side by playing with better players.
“Jack obviously wants to go now, six weeks ago he made his mind up he wants to leave and got to a club in the Champions League in Tottenham,” Sherwood said on talkSPORT (09/08/2018).
“I think it will get done, I honestly believe that. I think it’s too far down the line they might just let everyone get what they want.
He is [good enough for Tottenham]. I always think players look better when they are around world-class players. I think if you put Grealish amongst world-class players at Tottenham he would come on leaps and bounds.”
Grealish is currently at Championship side Villa after they lost the play-off final 1-0 to Fulham last season.
The attacking midfielder made 31 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals and supplying six assists in return.
Spurs fans have grown frustrated over the fact they are the only Premier League side yet to sign anyone this summer, but Sherwood is convinced they could still have an arrival.
