Jay Dasilva may be loaned out again by Premier League giants Chelsea with two Championship clubs, Aston Villa and Bristol City, reportedly keen.

In dramatic circumstances, Aston Villa and Bristol City are both looking for a left-back on transfer deadline day.

According to Bristol Live, Joe Bryan was on the verge of a move to Villa Park after Steve Bruce’s side agreed a £5 million deal, rising to £6 million, for arguably the Championship’s best left-back.

Bryan even agreed personal terms and completed his medical…only for Fulham to swoop in at the last minute. Reports that Steve Bruce was involved in a high-speed chase down to Craven Cottage, regrettably, remain unconfirmed.

As a result, Villa, and Bristol City of course, are now scouring the market for players capable of replacing Bryan. And it seems they have both settled on the same man – Chelsea’s highly-rated Jay Dasilva.

The Mirror (live blog, 8.28am) reports that Bristol City are interested in the 20-year-old, who has been likened to Chelsea legend Ashely Cole. But the Sun believes that Aston Villa could also launch a late bid.

Dasilva might not be a proven Championship left-back like Bryan, but the England U20 ace is one of the most promising young full-backs around.

He won the Fans’ Player of the Year award during a spell at Charlton Athletic last season and would benefit from a loan spell in a higher division.
