He was expected by many to rejoin this summer but appears to have taken a chance on improving his status at Liverpool this season; although that seems an enormous risk given he was struggling for a place even before the additions of Fabinho and Naby Keita.
Cardiff were offering a shot at a level Grujic has never played at regularly and that is something that could have seen his value skyrocket.
Grujic has also rejected a contract extension with Liverpool, the report by the Echo states, and you have got to imagine that is because he believes he can secure a better one by remaining at the club and showing what he can do.
There is the other side of it, however, that suggests he does not want to be tied down longer at the club, taking the next two years to find out if he should truly move on.
But, with Cardiff willing to give him such a fantastic chance to earn a bigger move, or a proper place at Anfield, Grujic is taking a hell of a chance...and only time will tell if it is the right one.
