The former Rangers loanee could be back at Ibrox to face Steven Gerrard’s side this season.

Some Rangers fans are reacting to reports a former Ibrox loanee could be heading back to Scotland with one of their rivals.

Emerson Hyndman spent the second half of 2016-17 at Rangers, impressing with four goals and as many assists in 17 appearances.

The midfielder’s progress has stalled since then however, with opportunities slim back at parent club Bournemouth.

And according to Sky Sports, the Cherries are in talks with Hibernian about another temporary stint north of the border, with John McGinn expected to depart for Aston Villa.

Rangers have been busy strengthening in Hyndman’s position this summer, adding Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria, Lassana Coulibaly.

But even so, some Gers followers cannot bear the thought of him in Hibs colours.

This is what they’re saying on Twitter…

Hyndman, a United States international, began his career at Fulham, but was picked up by Bournemouth in 2016 before being signed by then-Rangers manager Mark Warburton.

Could Hyndman do a job back at Rangers?
