The Rangers left-back could find himself surplus to requirements at Ibrox, as Steven Gerrard closes in on another new signing.

Rangers fans are reacting on Twitter to reports linking Declan John with a move away from Ibrox.
According to the Scottish Sun, Swansea City are lining up a loan deal for John as Rangers close in on the £2.2 million signing of Croatian left-back Borna Barisic.
John only moved to Glasgow a year ago from Swansea’s South Wales rivals Cardiff City, and penned a permanent three-and-a-half-year contract in January.
But despite impressing in his first season at Rangers, John looks set to become surplus to requirements once Barisic arrives, with the Gers having already signed Jon Flanagan in his position this summer.

And some of a Rangers persuasion are struggling to get their heads around the ‘news’.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
Should John move to Swansea, he would link up with Rangers fans Oli McBurnie, George Byers and Barrie McKay – the latter of whom left Ibrox for Nottingham Forest a year ago.
Is Swansea a good move for John?
