Everton have snapped up Arsenal goalkeeper Joao Virginia.

Everton fans may be focusing on their hopes of signing a new centre back and central defender, but they did pull off another signing on Friday afternoon.
The Toffees were late to get going in the summer transfer window, but they have snapped up Richarlison to boost their attacking options, as well as Barcelona left back Lucas Digne to succeed Leighton Baines.
Marcel Brands and Marco Silva will be keen on more additions before Thursday’s transfer deadline, and they made one under-the-radar addition on Friday.
Goalkeeper Joao Virginia has left Arsenal for a move to Everton, with the 18-year-old penning a three-year deal with the Toffees in something of a surprise move.
Virginia came up through the ranks of Portuguese giants Benfica before heading to Arsenal in 2016, and the youngster has been considered one of the Gunners’ top prospects.
Now though, the teenager is heading to Goodison Park to continue his development, in the hope of pushing Maarten Stekelenburg and Jordan Pickford in the Everton ranks.

Silva will be hoping his compatriot can fulfil his potential on Merseyside, and it’s fair to say that Arsenal fans are far from impressed with his departure.
Gunners supporters took to Twitter in order to react to Virginia’s move, claiming it’s ‘really, really strange’, a ‘stupid decision’ and ‘makes no sense’, adding that they hope there is a buy-back clause in the deal and believe that Arsenal will live to regret letting him go.
