West Ham United beat Ipswich Town 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham United's pre-season preparations continued on Saturday afternoon as they took on Championship side Ipswich Town at Portmand Road, and came away with a 2-1 win.
The Hammers had drawn 2-2 at Preston North End and beaten Aston Villa 3-1 before heading to Suffolk, with Manuel Pellegrini looking for another positive result against a Championship side.
West Ham named a suitably strong team as they prepare to face Liverpool on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, and they took the lead in the first half as Felipe Anderson bundled in his first goal for the club, heading the ball onto his own shoulder and into the net.
Ipswich pegged West Ham back before half time though, as new signing Ellis Harrison bagged his first goal for the club, making a smart run and flicking the ball home.
West Ham did claim the win in the second half though, as Marko Arnautovic ran clear and finished calmly, continuing his stunning scoring form in pre-season.
The Hammers still have friendlies against Mainz and Angers to come, but Pellegrini will be happy with the win, and the fact that goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski made his Hammers debut.
Signed from Swansea City earlier this summer, Fabianski has been on a break since the World Cup and whilst fans expected him to play against Preston or Villa, he was finally between the sticks against Ipswich – and this article contains the best images of his Hammers debut, as fans see him a West Ham shirt for the first time.
