Barry Ferguson has suggested in The Daily Record that Rangers should make a second bid for former Ibrox striker Kyle Lafferty.

Ibrox club Rangers have seen their initial offer of £200,000 for Lafferty turned down by Scottish Premiership rivals Heart of Midlothian, according to The Express.

The report has also claimed that Hearts value former Norwich City forward at £750,000.

Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson, who had two separate spells at Ibrox and is a club legend, believes that Steven Gerrard’s side should make a second bid for the 30-year-old.

The former Scotland international midfielder has also urged the Northern Ireland international forward to move to Ibrox.

Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record about Lafferty: “Not many people get a chance to go back to a magnificent club like Rangers. I was lucky enough to do it and Allan McGregor has just done it.

“And if Kyle Lafferty has got the opportunity to move to Ibrox with what’s going on just now with Steven Gerrard then he needs to take it. Rangers would be crazy not to go for him and he’d be crazy not to go.”

Good signing for Rangers?

Lafferty did well during his first spell at Rangers from 2008 until 2012, and given his experience in Scottish football, he would be a good signing for Rangers.

The Gers could do with a new and experienced striker, and Lafferty does fit the bill, especially with Rangers planning to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
