Wolverhampton Wanderers recently loaned the Spaniard to Las Palmas, ending any hope Bolton Wanderers may have had.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' Rafa Mir is one of the strikers whose signing Bolton Wanderers have 'investigated' this summer, according to the Bolton News.

Mir moved to Wolves in a £1.5 million deal from Valencia in January, but only played four times for the reigning Championship winners.

And the newspaper claims Bolton were keen to take the 21-year-old on loan as part of their quest to add two new forwards to Phil Parkinson's team.

But Mir will not be moving to the Macron Stadium any time soon, after heading to Las Palmas on a season-long deal earlier this week.

Bolton are said to be expanding their search beyond Bradford City's Charlie Wyke, who is expected to miss the start of the new season through injury, with Ipswich Town's Joe Garner also listed as a target.

Wolves have already strengthened their goalscoring options with the addition of Benfica's Raul Jimenez this summer, but are likely to add another body in the Mexican's position, according to the Express and Star.

That could leave strikers Paul Gladon, Bright Enobakhare and Joe Mason - the former Bolton loanee - surplus to requirements at Molineux.

Would Bolton have been a good move for Wolves' Rafa Mir?
