HITC Sport understands Barnsley have rejected a bid from an unnamed club for Brad Potts.

Barnsley have turned down a £500,000 bid for midfielder Brad Potts from an unnamed side, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Barnsley are fighting to keep hold of their best players following their relegation from the Championship last season and a number of clubs have been keeping tabs on Potts’ situation.
Potts was one of Barnsley’s shining lights in a disappoining campaign last term, making 41 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals and providing three assists.
The 24-year-old joined Barnsley from Blackpool last summer and quickly established himself as a key player at Oakell, finishing as runner-up in the club’s Player of the Year last season.

Potts’ performances have not gone unnoticed elsewhere and a mystery club has firmed up their interest by tabling a £500,000 offer for the all-action midfielder.
Barnsley have rejected the opening offer, and sources have told HITC Sport that the South Yorkshire club could consider doing business if they get an offer in the region of £1million for Potts.
It remains to be seen if Potts’ suitors come back with an improved bid, but Barnsley are bracing themselves for further interest in the former Carlisle midfielder before the transfer window closes next month.
