West Ham United beat Aston Villa 3-1 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
West Ham United were in pre-season action again on Wednesday night, as they beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Walsall's Banks's Stadium ahead o the new league season.
The Hammers drew 2-2 away at Preston North End on Saturday afternoon, and faced another Championship club last night as Manuel Pellegrini's side took on Villa.
Michail Antonio got the scoring started for the Hammers, showing great endeavour to keep fighting for the ball before advancing into the box and firing into the bottom corner of the net.
Superb link-up play between Arthur Masuaku and Felipe Anderson resulted in the left back squaring for Marko Arnautovic, and the Austrian made it three goals in a matter of days with a smart finish.
Ex-Villa loanee Robert Snodgrass tucked home a third from Arnautovic's pass, and Villa did land a consolation thanks to a superb finish from young winger Andre Green.
West Ham will be happy with such a comfortable win, and Pellegrini was able to unleash the club's record signing for the first time as Anderson made his Hammers debut.
The Brazilian winger, signed from Lazio earlier this month, showed his class in the build-up to Arnautovic's goal, and fans will be hoping to see plenty more of that.
Above and below are a host of images of Anderson playing in a West Ham shirt for the first time, and he will have left many desperate to see more of that after a strong first showing.
