Newcastle United have been heavily linked with Yoshinori Muto, with Rafael Benitez keen to snap up the striker.

Yoshinori Muto has posted a picture of himself on a plane, with the caption ‘see you Japan’ just hours after being linked with a move to Newcastle United.
Kyodo News has suggested that Newcastle are on the verge of signing Muto from Mainz.
The reports from Japan suggested that Muto was in the final stages of talks with Newcastle, which makes his Instagram post from today very interesting.
Muto could, of course, be heading back to Germany – as that is where he plays his club football, but the post has certainly captured Newcastle’s fans’ attention.
The 26-year-old striker appears to be Rafael Benitez’s main striking priority now, after an impressive World Cup with Japan, and the Daily Mail suggest Newcastle are willing to pay £9 million to sign him.

Muto has had a credible campaign for Mainz last term, where he netted eight-goals and Benitez seemingly feels he could improve Newcastle’s attacking options.
The Magpies struggled to find a prolific scorer last term, with Ayoze Perez ending up at the top of their scoring charts.
Benitez has struggled to do a deal a striker all summer, but Muto may finally be Newcastle’s man, with the striker seemingly edging ever closer to putting pen to paper at St. James’ Park.
