HITC Sport understands Watford are eyeing French sensation Wesley Said as Richarlison’s replacement.

Watford are weighing up a move for highly-rated Dijon forward Wesley Said as they look for a replacement for Everton-bound Richarlison, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Watford are planning for life without Brazilian attacker Richarlison ahead of his impending move to Everton and they are actively scouring the transfer market for reinforcements.

Said has emerged on Watford’s radar and that of a number of clubs across Europe following his impressive form for Dijon in Ligue 1.

The former France Under-21 international netted nine goals and provided four assists in 31 Ligue 1 games last term for Dijon to earmark him as one of the best young talents in France’s top-flight.

Said can play anywhere across the frontline and his versatility makes him an attractive proposition to Watford as they look to add to their attacking options before the close of the transfer window next month.

Dijon are reluctant to lose their prize asset, but they are bracing themselves for offers for the 23-year-old and they would struggle to resist sizeable offers for the attacker.
