Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window.

Harry Redknapp spoke highly of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (7:34am, July 20, 2018), but he raised doubts on whether or not the attacker would be able to get into the Tottenham Hotspur team.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in signing Grealish in the summer transfer window and are ready to make an offer of £20 million for the 22-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.

Former Tottenham and Birmingham City manager Redknapp has spoken highly of Grealish, but he has wondered if the youngster will be able to play regularly for Mauricio Pochettino’s first team regularly.

Redknapp said about Grealish on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (7:34am, July 20, 2018): “I think he can play top level. He is one of those lads with that special ability that lots of people don’t want to take a chance on.

“He can do stuff that other people can’t do. He gets on the ball, he can make things happen, he is a match-winner.”

The former Tottenham boss added: “If he goes to Tottenham or somewhere, is he going to get in the team? That is going to be the problem.”

Risky move

Tottenham have a settled and established starting lineup, and it is going to be hard for Grealish to play week in and week out for Spurs, at least in the opening weeks.

However, the 22-year-old has to take a risk if he wants to move to a big club like Tottenham and test himself against the best teams.

True, the youngest will play regularly at Aston Villa in the Championship next season, but for him to progress and develop, he needs to develop himself.
