Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal to bring Jack Colback to the City Ground from Newcastle United, according to the Daily Mail (liveblog entry 16:09).
Colback spent the second half of last season on loan to Forest, for whom he made 16 appearances and scored one goal.
And the newspaper reports the midfielder is on his way back to the East Midlands on a temporary contract until the end of the campaign.
Should Colback's move go ahead, it would effectively bring to an end his Newcastle career, with his deal there due to expire next summer.
A boyhood Newcastle fan, Colback moved to St James' Park on a free transfer from Sunderland four years ago.
And he could become summer signing number 10 for Nottingham Forest, who have already tied up deals for Costel Pantilimon, Tobias Figueiredo, Michael Dawson, Jack Robinson, Joao Carvalho, Gil Dias, Diogo Goncalves, Hillal Soudani and Lewis Grabban.
Is the Newcastle United midfielder a good addition for Nottingham Forest?
