Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on Sassuolo forward Khouma Babacar.

According to The Mirror, Sassuolo are poised to sell striker Khouma Babacar to Crystal Palace this summer in a £12million deal.

Palace are in need of reinforcements this summer, especially in attack given that Christian Benteke endured a dismal season and failed to score following his move from Midtjylland.

Manager Roy Hodgson doesn’t have a huge budget to work with though, and whilst he may need to sell before he can buy, one striker could be nearing a move to Selhurst Park.

The Mirror report that Palace are poised to swoop for Sassuolo forward Khouma Babacar, with the Eagles in the process of finalising a £12million move.

It’s noted that Babacar has only just made his move to Sassuolo permanent having spent the second half of last season on loan there, but Palace are set to give him another transfer.

Babacar, 25, was linked with Palace in January having fallen out of favour with Fiorentina, but he joined Sassuolo on loan, and he notched two goals and two assists in 13 outings.

Sassuolo made his move permanent on the 1st of July, but he looks set for an early exit, with the Senegalese striker in line to boost Hodgson’s attacking options this summer.

With 39 goals in 128 games for Fiorentina, Babacar maybe isn’t a guaranteed goalscorer but has fared well in limited playing time, and Palace will be hoping to get the best out of him if their deal does go through.
