HITC Sport understands several Football League clubs have activated Boreham Wood striker Morgan Ferrier's release clause.
Tranmere are among several Football League clubs to activate Morgan Ferrier's release clause at Boreham Wood, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
National League outfit Boreham Wood released a statement earlier this week claiming Ferrier would only leave the club on their terms despite the £35,000 release clause in his contract.
Boreham Wood only re-signed Ferrier in February in a club record deal after he left to join Dagenham & Redbridge last summer.
Ferrier, who turned down a new deal at Boreham before joining Dagenham & Redbridge, scored eight goals in 30 appearances for Daggers last season before returning to Boreham.
The former Arsenal and Crystal Palace youngster scored seven goals in 15 appearances during the second half of last season for Boreham and his performances have brought him to the attention of several League One and League Two clubs.
Tranmere, who beat Boreham Wood in the National League play-off final, made an offer for Ferrier and activated his release clause as have several other clubs, but no deal has been done as yet.
Boreham Wood are reluctant to lose Ferrier, but they are powerless to stop him leaving if his release clause is met by interested parties.
