Watford are reportedly keen on signing the Russian striker.
According to Russian media outlet Sport Express, Watford are interested in signing Zenit Saint Petersburg striker Artem Dzyuba, as Javi Gracia looks to add some experienced quality to his front-line at Vicarage Road.
The 29-year-old has a decent goalscoring record for Zenit, since joining them in 2015, racking up 39 goals in 102 games, and his ability to act as a target man should suit the Hornets’ direct playing style perfectly.
Standing at 6ft 5in tall, the Russia international is incredibly strong in the air, and he seems to have all of the attributes that are need in order to be a success in the Premier League, what with its robust nature.
Russian publication Sport Express claims that Watford closely monitored Dzyuba’s performances at the World Cup this summer, and were impressed with what they saw.
Watford scored just 44 goals in the Premier League last season, so the addition of an established striker to provide more competition for Troy Deeney will be pivotal to their hopes of enjoying a successful campaign this season.
Dzyuba could be just the man for the job, and if Gracia does manage to bring him to Vicarage Road, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Watford.
