A number of Newcastle United fans are desperate to see Rafa Benitez sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.

A number of Newcastle United fans took to Twitter following England’s defeat to Belgium at the World Cup to urge Rafa Benitez and Mike Ashley to do absolutely everything they can to try and sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea this summer.
Loftus-Cheek was one of the players to benefit as Gareth Southgate made a number of changes from the side that was beaten by Croatia in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday. And the 22-year-old certainly impressed against the Belgians.
England may have lost, but Loftus-Cheek caught the eye with his creativity and the excitement that he generated. It is the kind of display that would have sent a message to new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, but a large number of Newcastle fans are hoping that it also alerts Benitez.
The Chronicle reported earlier in the tournament that the midfielder is one of the players on Benitez’s radar this summer, but a loan deal was much more likely given the midfielder’s potential price-tag. The Daily Mail suggested last month that he could be available for £25 million.

However, with Kenedy now through the St James’ Park door on a temporary basis, it would have to be a permanent move for Loftus-Cheek if the Magpies were going to get something done this summer.
But it appears that if Newcastle decided to break the bank and bring Loftus-Cheek in permanently, it would be met by an incredibly positive reaction judging by what some of the Toon Army made of the youngster’s performance against Belgium.

Here is what some of the Newcastle supporters were saying about his display on Saturday…
