Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard guided the Gers to win against FK Shkupi at Ibrox on Thursday.
Steven Gerrard was appointed the Rangers manager earlier this summer, and on Thursday evening, the Liverpool legend took charge of the Ibrox club for the first time in a competitive fixture.
Rangers took on FK Shkupi at Ibrox in the first leg of the Europa League qualifying first round tie on Thursday evening.
The Gers won the match 2-0, thanks to goals from Jamie Murphy and James Tavernier (penalty).
Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Reds’ legend Gerrard winning his first competitive match in charge of Scottish Premiership side Rangers.
Below are some of the best comments:
Just watched Gerrard’s first game as Rangers boss. Was impressed in parts of the game, seen glimpses of what Gerrard is looking for and was impressed with the the more younger players Middleton and Ejaria which were brought on in the 2nd half. Gerrard is one of the greatest midfielders to have played in the Premier League and is a legend at Liverpool.
The 38-year-old former England international midfielder was on the books of Liverpool from 1989 until 2015, winning the FA Cup twice and the Champions League and the Europa League once each.
It does not come as a surprise at all that Liverpool fans are interested in how Gerrard does as manager of Rangers.
