Jerry Mbakogu is not giving up on his potential transfer to Leeds United.

He was absent Carpi's training sessions this week as confusion over his transfer plays out.

Italian outlet TVQui report Carpi have decided to keep him away from the training pitch as they try to sell him to Leeds.

It is claimed Carpi are hopeful a deal with Leeds can be agreed shortly.

The report states: "The biancorossa society has decided not to convene the Nigerian and to continue the negotiation of its transfer with Leeds, with the hope that the negotiation will be unblocked in the next two days."

Gianluca Di Marzio reported this week that Leeds are still in talks with Carpi over a deal for the striker.

Carpi are keen to sell Mbakogu so they can fund their own transfer targets.
