Aston Villa fans have suggested that Mile Jedinak’s departure could actually be good news for them.
The veteran midfielder has agreed terms with an unnamed club from Europe, and is expected to leave Villa Park in the very near future.
The loss of Jedinak is sure to be a blow to Steve Bruce, who has always valued the Australian international.
However, Villa fans understand the decision the club have taken, as losing Jedinak’s wages will significantly cut costs.
Great news for us as it gives hope that bjarnsson might stay— Kelt Smallpox (@BeefyBiffa) July 13, 2018
If true makes sense. Top earner, over 30, 1 year left, cover in that position, will be in Aus alot again, and injury prone.— Boycey (@Boycey1259) July 13, 2018
I like Mile but if we can get him off the wage bill that's great.— Matt Collins (@MattCol69186473) July 13, 2018
Yep and dont forget Asian Cup in 2019, hell be going back to Aus again alot this season.— Boycey (@Boycey1259) July 13, 2018
Understand Jedinak leaving. Would prefer to keep him and bin Whelan but cant see that happening. #avfc— James Evans (@jamese9930) July 13, 2018
If Jedinak is leaving, I’ll be sad to see him go. But at least it guarantees we won’t have to see Bruce play him at CB again.— VillaTim (@villatim80) July 13, 2018
This would be ideal to be fair.— AJS (@ajsfounded71) July 13, 2018
Jedinak won’t be the only senior Villa player to leave this summer, as they are in so much financial difficulty.
The claret and blues’ failure to earn promotion last season was a major blow, and Villa are now having to significantly reduce their expenditure this summer.
