Ivan Perisic will probably be out of reach for Tottenham.
The Inter Milan winger added millions to his transfer value with a clutch performance, stepping up when his country needed him most.
Perisic was recently linked with a transfer move to Tottenham with with FC Inter News reporting the North London club's interest.
The Inter winger was a target for Manchester United last summer, and while the Red Devils could still afford Perisic, his World Cup performance has probably put Tottenham out of the race.
Perisic scored Croatia's equaliser and later hit the post, showing his game changing talent which saw him score 11 goals and provide nine assists this season.
If Tottenham really were keen on the Inter ace, he is likely now beyond their reach, with his transfer value soaring.
Not only that, but Perisic could demand the sort of wages which could price Spurs out of the race.
It is a shame for fans as he is the sort of player who could really add to their first XI, and push them nearer to challenging for the title.
This is one case where they would have been better off making their move before the World Cup.
