Fulham are reportedly close to signing Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri - and the club’s supporters on Twitter are ecstatic about the possibility of him joining.

According to Sky Sports, Seri is in London hoping to complete a move to the Premier League, but Fulham are fearful their deal could still be hijacked by a rival at a late stage.

Sky Sports' report states that Fulham are not willing to pay more than £18million for the 26-year-old and that he has a £35million release clause in his deal.

Seri is a highly-rated central midfielder that has just enjoyed a solid season with Nice and could now be given his first taste of English football.

Fulham are looking to recruit after promotion back to the Premier League and the box-to-box midfielder looks set to link up with them imminently.

He made 43 appearances across all competitions last season and is renowned for his defensive work, but can contribute going forward and managed a return of 10 assists.

Napoli's player Ivan Strinic vies with OGC Nice player Jean Seri during the pre-season friendly match between SSC Napoli and OGC Nice at Stadio San Paolo on August 1, 2016 in Naples, Italy.

Some Fulham fans on social media are buzzing about the prospect of Seri in their midfield next season and feel his signature would be a massive statement.
