Liverpool's Loris Karius played his first match ince the Champions League final yesterday.
Loris Karius is going to be haunted by his Champions League final clangers for a while, and supporters too are still nervous seeing him in goal.
He made his return for the Reds yesterday in their first pre-season game against Chester.
One fan captured a video of Karius fumbling an effort through his hands in a warm up, suggesting his Champions League mistakes were far from a one off.
Karius' Champions League howlers were blamed on a concussion... yesterday he had no such excuse.
Fortunately for Karius he kept a clean sheet against Chester, a game Liverpool won 7-0, and for his efforts he got a standing ovation from the fans in attendance.
On one hand what happens in a match is far more important than a warm up, but on the other hand, the pre-game errors simply serve to highlight his tendency for fumbling the ball.
Liverpool have been linked with replacing Karius but are yet to do so, and manager Jurgen Klopp is getting behind the German goalkeeper.
Some supporters were left angry by the Karius video and believe he needs replacing if the club is to win silverware this season...
Imagine costing your team in the cl final, club go out of their way and blame it on concussion, main media outlets push it based on us not spending, get klopp to come out and back him, then see a vid in a warm up doing the exact same thing, unbelievable stuff #lfc— moneyballfc (@moneybalIfc) July 7, 2018
I notice karius up to his old tricks in the pre season warm up.... soon enough il have to stop blaming karius coz hes dead. Il have to blame klopp for selecting him— Rich Amps (@RichieAmps) July 7, 2018

An absolute shambles if he is our number 1 in August— nick flavin (@nickflavin) July 7, 2018
A real blind spot like the one for Moreno. Karius will let us down again, we know it and he probably knows it himself https://t.co/ermjkqWxHF— Mark Gilbertson (@mark_gilbertson) July 7, 2018
