Ramiro Funes Mori has left Everton for Villarreal in the summer transfer window.

Villarreal central defender Ramiro Funes Mori has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a message to Everton fans.

Funes Mori has joined Spanish club Villarreal from Premier League side Everton in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old centre-back has parted company with the Toffees after three years at Goodison Park, having joined the Merseyside outfit from Argentine giants River Player in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported on the Premier League club’s official Twitter page to be worth £9.5 million.

The Argentina international has taken to Twitter to send a message to the Everton fans.

Funes Mori is a good centre-back, but the Argentine struggled to make a huge impact during his time at Everton.

The Toffees have better players than the Argentine at the back, and one suspects that new manager Marco Silva will not be too bothered about the departure of the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Everton will be aiming to break into the top six of the Premier League next season.
