HITC Sport understands Reading are closing in on the signing of Coventry striker McNulty.

Reading are on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Coventry City striker Marc McNulty in a move worth £1.5million, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Coventry have rejected two bids from Reading for McNulty already this summer, but the Championship club have come back with an improved bid of £1.2million rising to £1.5million.
Coventry are reluctant to lose their prize asset, but are ready to accept Reading’s new offer with the player keen to play in the Championship.

McNulty enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Coventry last season, scoring 28 goals in all competitions as he helped them win promotion to League One, via the play-offs.
Reading boss Paul Clement has made a new striker one his top priorities this summer, with the Royals short of attacking options at the Madejski Stadium.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Yann Kermorgant are the only two senior strikers on the books at Reading and Clement has targeted McNulty to help bolster his strikeforce.
Talks are ongoing between both parties and Reading are confident that they are set to land one of their top targets in McNulty.
