Primeira Liga giants Benfica are allegedly ready to cash in on Haris Seferovic with Premier League duo West Ham United and Brighton both linked.
One Benfica striker has already moved to England this summer, with the Mexican international Raul Jimenez joining Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan. And it seems that Haris Seferovic could follow in his footsteps.
It is understood that Seferovic no longer features in the plans of Benfica manager Rui Vitoria, with the Eagles recently reinforcing their front line with the signings of Nico Castillo and Facundo Ferreyra from Pumas UNAM and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively.
Although Seferovic will not be short of offers if he does leave. The Swiss striker, who featured in all four games as Vladimir Petkovic’s side reached the knockout round of the World Cup, is understood to be on the radar of Premier League side West Ham United, according to Record.
The Hammers are in the market for a new striker and they seem ready to rival Wolfsburg and league rivals Brighton for the 26-year-old’s signature. Seferovic has a release clause in his contract worth around £52 million but Benfica will surely let him go for much less than that.
Seferovic only moved to Portugal last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt and scored four goals in 20 Primeira Liga appearances, although just nine of them came from the start.
He has also represented Real Sociedad and Fiorentina in a nomadic career.
