Foster was impressed with the performance of Schmeichel for Denmark against Croatia in their last-16 tie at the World Cup in Russia on Sunday evening.
The former Manchester City and Leeds United goalkeeper was superb for Denmark, who lost to Croatia on penalties and were knocked out of the World Cup.
The 31-year-old played brilliantly for the Danes, as the Leicester goalkeeper kept out Luka Modric’s penalty during extra time and also saved two in the shootout.
Foster has been on the books of West Brom since the summer of 2012 when he joined from Birmingham City for a transfer fee reported by The Telegraph to be worth £4 million after spending the 2011-12 season on loan at The Hawthorns, while Schmeichel moved to Leicester from Leeds in the summer of 2011.
