When Andros Townsend joined Newcastle United from Tottenham Hotspur back in January 2016, many would have expected the winger to be a star for the Magpies for years to come.
However, following the relegation of Newcastle to the Championship at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, Townsend left the Magpies for Crystal Palace for a transfer fee reported by The Independent to be worth £13 million.
The former Tottenham winger did well during his short spell at St. James’ Park, and it seems that Newcastle are keen on bringing the 26-year-old back.
Good move for Newcastle United?
Townsend has done well for Palace over the past two seasons, and given his experience in the Premier League and obvious quality, he would be a good signing for Newcastle in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old winger scored two goals and provided seven assists in 35 Premier League starts for Palace last season.
