The all-action Belgian powerhouse is one of the best midfielders in English football but is being linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Dembele, who turns 31 on July 16, was one of Tottenham's best and most influential players last season.
But The Daily Mail reports that Inter have already held talks with representatives of the former Fulham star, and that further meetings are expected to commence next week.
The report also adds that the Belgium international - currently at the World Cup - is trying to "wind down his career" and suggested that one of his reasons for wanting to leave England is the physical effort of the Premier League, of which there is no winter break.
Dembele, who earns £80,000 per week according to Silly Season, is valued at around £20 million and even though he is about to turn 31, it could be considered a bargain in the modern market.
The powerful midfielder, who played 40 games in all competitions last season, has impressed during the World Cup in Russia lately, offering a reminder of his talents, and some Spurs fans would surely be sad to see him go.
