Chelsea fans are reacting on Twitter after Lewis Baker moved on loan to Leeds United.
The promising midfielder is due to spend the entire 2018/19 campaign with Marcelo Bielsa's team, who according to reports could also sign another Blues academy product, Jamal Blackman.
Leeds are the fifth loan club of Baker's career, after Sheffield Wednesday, Milton Keynes Dons, Vitesse Arnhem and Middlesbrough.
Yet despite a particularly impressive spell in Holland, and youth level success with England, Baker continues to be overlooked by Chelsea, for whom he has played since the age of nine.
And sending him to Leeds has not proved universally popular amongst the Stamford Bridge faithful.
This is what they're saying...
Fancy loaning someone to that lot— George (@CFCGeorge) June 30, 2018
So this is what Chelsea fc is all about now...what a pity to be a fan...— eleta paul (@paul4e) June 30, 2018
Sell and stop wasting his time. They have no I tetion of using him— oakldn (@oakldn) June 30, 2018
Sell him already.. This is a pointless loan move.— MaSarriCFC (@SarrifutbolCFC) June 30, 2018
Such a talented player being ruined by a awful loan system— Tom (@CFC9325) June 30, 2018
Another great great talent is getting his dream destroyed by the club he loves...... soo sad i hope we dont do the same RLC— PhyiX At0mic (@NikizardH) June 30, 2018
Chelsea has wasted your career what a good player— Blue Nation (@madebablue2) June 30, 2018
He’s 23 now. 24 by the time we get him back. Has so much potential and already probably good enough to at very least make our bench. If you ain’t gonna ever use him just sell him and stop ruining his career by loaning him to different teams every season. KMT!— CozyMfrd (@RighteousGums) June 30, 2018
Enough is enough with this guy, he needs to push for a permanent move now. No more— lylleanthony (@LUDA26191) June 30, 2018
Why not send him to Derby instead ?— Rnjn (@IAMRnjn) June 30, 2018
Ffs why aren't we sending them to Derby, @morriskid will be there.— Kamran Musstafa (@kami3012) June 30, 2018
Thanks for ruining his career.— Abdulqadir (@ChaudaryCFC) June 30, 2018
I had such high hopes for Lewis baker. I thought he’d eventually replace Fabregas. Baker has the eye for a defense splitting pass & he doesn’t have a weak foot. I wish him success at Leeds. Chelsea would be wise to place a buyback or first option on him.— Cheefin’ Chels (@OhSoSarri) 30 June 2018
Not bad news actually... promising player, great manager, great club.— Kian Derrick J Duffy (@differentduffy) June 30, 2018
He literally just needs one good loan season to prove he can do it in England, the talent is there. Hopefully this goes better than Boro— Lashay Antony Laleye (@LashManLondon) June 30, 2018
Really pleased it's a loan. Kept reading it was to be permanently. He can make it at Chelsea. Good luck this season. Really hope 19/20 he stays at home!— paul hanlon (@buzzcockblue) June 30, 2018
And this is what Leeds fans can apparently expect...
Potentially very good, drives forward from midfield, technically excellent and has been known to hit wonder goals....attitude questionable seems to think he's bertie big bollocks !— Vinnie (@VinniGee) June 30, 2018
Baker, who is due to turn 24 during his spell at Leeds, has another four years left on his Chelsea contract.
The attacking midfielder is known for his ambidexterity and set-piece taking ability.
Does the Leeds loanee deserve a proper chance at Chelsea?
