Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers are reportedly sending Ibrox midfielder Jamie Barjonas to Partick Thistle on loan.

Rangers midfielder Jamie Barjonas will leave the Ibrox club and join Partick Thistle on a loan deal in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

Barjonas has been on the books of Rangers since 2008 and made his debut for the Gers’ first team back in May of 2017.

The Scotland Under-19 international made nine appearances in the Scottish Premiership during the 2018-19 campaign, providing one assist in the process, according to Transfermarkt.com.

With competition for places in the Rangers midfield strong, it would be a good decision for new manager and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard to send the teenager out on loan.

Partick Thistle will be aiming to win promotion from the Scottish Championship next season after getting relegated from the Scottish Premiership, and Barjonas would develop and progress playing in a very competitive environment.

Back in December 2017, Rangers and Scotland Under-21 international midfielder Ross McCrorie spoke highly of Barjonas to Scottishfa.co.uk and backed Barjonas to follow in his footsteps for club and country.
